Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, Lana Rak now calls the San Francisco area home. She began drawing at age 4 and was admited to the Republican School of Fine Art in Kiev when she was 12. In 1986, Lana moved to Canada and continued her art studies at Langara College in Vancouver and later at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she is currently studying for an MFA.
Lana Rak's artwork has won Third Prize at the 2004 National Exhibition Impact Artists' Gallery in Buffalo, New York, Grand Prize at the Art Experience Art21 Gallery in Palo Alto, California.
